Why KrakenAcademy exists

Kraken Academy began with a simple question: what if a youth organization could help develop more than an athlete?

Our philosophyExplore programs

The original vision started with Kraken FC and youth soccer. Sport was the natural first platform because it teaches discipline, teamwork, confidence, resilience, responsibility, and how to respond when things do not go your way. But the more we looked at what children and families need, the clearer it became that sport alone is only one part of the picture.

Children are navigating school, friendships, technology, pressure, health, identity, confidence, family expectations, and a rapidly changing future. Parents are often trying to coordinate multiple disconnected programs while searching for people and environments they trust.

That is why the vision expanded into Kraken Academy: a community-centered whole-child development ecosystem. Soccer remains an important first program and entry point, but the Academy is being designed to connect athletics with leadership, wellness, nutrition, education, creativity, family engagement, and community partnerships.

We are starting deliberately. We will launch programs as the curriculum, people, facilities, funding, and safeguards are ready. The goal is not to build the most programs. The goal is to build the right environment for children to grow.

How we got here

From an idea to an academy

  1. 2026

    Florida nonprofit organization formed and the broader Kraken Academy model developed.

  2. 2026–2027

    Governance, curriculum, partnerships, fundraising, facilities, and program infrastructure built.

  3. May 2027

    Planned Kraken FC evaluations and tryouts.

  4. June–July 2027

    Planned summer camps.

  5. August 2027

    Planned first full soccer program year.

  6. The future

    Additional whole-child programs introduced as they become ready.

What guides us

The commitments underneath all of it

Every program decision, partnership and hire is measured against the same short list.

  • Decisions begin with what supports healthy child development.
  • Programs launch when they are ready, not when they are announced.
  • Families are partners in the work, not spectators of it.
  • Excellence and empathy are expected to coexist.
  • Money, time and community trust are handled as a responsibility.
  • Children and families should feel seen, respected, and part of it.
